Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre
Oak Park has a wide variety of facilities, including outdoor swimming, a state-of-the art gym that is open 24/7 and a fitness center for groups as well as a cycling studio with virtual cycling classes.

Oak Park Sports and Aqauatic Centre is an accredited Watch Around Water facility, which means there are rules that must be adhered to when visiting the facility.
Be aware of the water guidelines
Watch Around Water was developed by the Leisure Institute of Western Australia in collaboration together with Royal Life Saving – Western Australia and was adopted with permission in Victoria from Life Saving Victoria. The Watch around Water guidelines are designed to educate the public about proper monitoring and responsibility when they visit the public pool. The guidelines outline:
Children under 5 (0 to 5 years old)
Ratio 1 adult to 2 kids (babies in prams count in the ratio)
Children between the ages of 0 and 5 years old are required to be with a responsible guardian who is able to swim. Children should be monitored continuously and be within arm’s reach at all times. Children under the age of 5 must wear the PINK wristband* that indicates their the age.
Children younger than 10 (5 – 9 years old)
Ratio: 1 adult for 4 children.
Children between 5 and 9 years old should be closely supervised by a responsible guardian who is prepared to constantly and continuously supervise them both within and outside from the pool. The responsible guardian should actively monitor and maintain an eye on the child or children throughout the day, with no obstacles in between. All children aged 5-9 are required to wear the YELLOW wristband* in order to show their the age.
Children 10+
For children aged 10 years or older, parents must utilize their experience of the child’s swimming skills to determine the appropriate level of assistance required.
Important information about the the supervision of children
Here are some things you should keep in mind:
Supervision of kids at swimming pools is not the sole responsibility of lifeguards.
Lifeguards work on an 1:100 ratio. This relies on the assumption that parents provide an immediate supervision for their child.
Parents must ensure the consistent and immediate supervision that children require.
